Mr. Rupam Lal Howlader has joined his duty as Assistant Professor in Law at Dr. Ambedkar
Government Law College, Puducherry on March 3, 2017. He obtained B.A.LL.B (Hon’s) and
LL.M. from the Department of Law, University of Calcutta. He qualified UGC NET with JRF. He
was a Junior Research Fellow at the Department of Law, University of Calcutta. Recently he has
submitted his Ph.D. thesis on “Examination of Law Relating to Abolition of Untouchability in
India with Special Reference to the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of
Atrocities) Act, 1989: A Socio Legal Study” in the University of Calcutta. Mr. Rupam has more
than 5 years of teaching and research experience in several reputed institutions in India. He has
presented paper in seminars, conferences etc. on numerous occasion and also published a number
of research articles in his credit. His thrust area on teaching and research includes Constitutional
Law and Human Rights.
