D. Bharatha Chakravarthy
Class of 1993.

Dr. Ambedkar Govt. Law College, Puducherry, made me what I am today. My five years at the institution were some of the most cherished years of my life. We had unbridled access to some of the greatest legal mindsof the time as our Professorsand their lectures and mentorship put us on par with the students at any National Law School. As an instance of our pioneering nature, the only moot competition in India at that time (Philip Jessup) was hosted by us. Our expansive library boasts a collection like few others in the country have.It has been many years since I was a student, but my alma mater continues to shape my life. My mentor in the profession, Mr. V. A. Edward Kumar, is also an alumnus, and I met him through his daughter and my classmate Kamalakumar. My law practice is with two of my classmates G.K. Ilanthiraiyan (now Hon’ble Justice G.K. Ilanthiraiyan, Judge, Madras High Court) and T. Sai Krishnan. Our alumni are a close net of professionals and constitute a supportive community, professionally or otherwise. For our dear Pondicherry Law College, it has been a tremendous journey so far, and hereon, there are but miles to go…
